Dover Castle the Key to England

Dover Castle is the Key to England, overlooking the port and town of Dover. Dover is the oldest port in the British Isles and home to the oldest known sea vessel in the world, the Bronze Age Boat.

Albion the Key to England
Dover is considered to be the place of Albion, the name that describes all Britain, starting in Dover. The name Albion is believed to be Celtic in origin, as too is the name Britannia.

The Dover Castle Blog will offer landscape photography of Dover, with photos taken by D. Alexander, whose ancestors are from Dover going back many, many centuries.

There will also be articles on Dover's history, a town that is one among many in the British Isles, where the Union Flag is at home and flying proudly from the Castle.
